This commercial was the first of a two spots that followed a unique way of filming. On set they created costumes that were filmed with humans controlling puppets suits upside down. The character bodies were costumes with holes at the top of their heads. The actors would slip on the costumes (upside down) and their arms would actually be driving the legs on set.
Tracking points were added to the real body suits created for filming live where the CG arms were added to the bodies as well as eyes/eyebrows. Full CG bodies and characters were created for the far camera angle shots such as the auditorium scenes.
